Improvement of the flood protection safety of the flood protection bay of Komárom, Almásfüzitő
We built the main dike between Komárom and Almásfüzitő, a 14.3 km long flood protection line, the most important section of which runs along the main Vienna-Budapest railway line. Here, we built a 4.8 km embankment between the Danube and the railway line to ensure that the line can operate without major disruption or loss of rail traffic during flooding. Thanks to the project, we have increased the sense of security of some 30 000 people and protected many cultural assets and important infrastructure from the water.
